About Me

My photo
Justine Bartow-Funk
I paint scenes I encounter while adventuring in the forest and the ocean that inspire me to express what I see with water and color. I take photographs and paint with the hope of sharing these interpretations in order to bring about a sense of understanding of the natural world around us; to inform, and hopefully trigger others to take a stance of responsibility to their environment and protect pure places. This means using what you have and making a strong effort to restrict the number of new goods we consume. Thought patterns and daily ways of living can be altered for the preservation of our planet: planting a garden for a portion of your food, using your feet or a bicycle as modes of transport, sharing with others your knowledge of plants as medicine, sustainable land use, and other topics such as historical use of an area, ecology, geology, and wildlife. Thank you for spending time learning about my artwork and my motivations! Much Aloha, Justine
